Forget the big-budget movie coming out this month — the real star wars are taking place between two staple planets in the DC Universe.
Rann, home to human space adventurer Adam Strange since the 1950s, has been attacked by Thanagar, world of the hawkpeople — including the former Hawkman and Hawkwoman. It’s all over a simple accident — one that utterly destroyed Thanagar and left its people as refugees on Rann.
When Strange involves the current Hawkman and Hawkgirl and the newly reformed Green Lantern Corps. gets thrown into the mix, the stage is set for a interplanetary dispute of epic proportions.
It’s about time DC spent more time developing its great cast of space characters and this Infinite Crisis prequel, written by Dave Gibbons with art by the gifted Ivan Reis, is a fine start.
