My eyes! My eeeeeeyyyyeeeeessss!
OK, so that Eric Powell dude has clearly gone and created something special in his bimonthly comic book, The Goon.
Something about this prohibition-era mobster battling the forces of evil, combined with some of the filthiest and most hilarious scenarios in comics has struck a chord with many of Powell’s fellow creators.
So when Powell lets his pal Dwight T. Albatross loose to round up some of the best talent around and let them all take a stab and telling a Goon tale, the results are pretty darned impressive.
Writers like Steve Niles (30 Days Of Night), Arvid Nelson (Rex Mundi) and John Arcudi (B.P.R.D.) and artists such as Humberto Ramos (Spider-Man), Ryan Sook (X-Factor) and Powell himself each add more magic to the Goon mix in an eclectic, eccentric and exceptional collection.
But be warned: Albatross’ inclusion of “something for the ladies” near the back of the book is nothing less than scarring. View at your own risk!
